Sacred Heart Convent School, Ratnagiri City came into being in 1996 & is conducted by the Fatima Sisters. It is an English Medium school, recognized by the Government & comprises Ten Standards besides the Pre-Primary class for infants. The School aims at training students to take up their place in society as responsible citizens & build a new & better world. This is a co-education school & open to pupils of all classes and creed. Its aim is to impart sound education, instill praiseworthy character, create balanced Judgment & robust physique so as to enable its pupils to develop into useful citizens.

The course of studies of the school is arranged according to the syllabus laid down by the Department of Education, Maharashtra State. It prepares the students for the Secondary Schools Certificate Examination. Reports on conduct, application and progress are issued after each of the two unit tests & the two examinations. Parents are expected to sign these reports & return them to the school. The School which is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra prepares pupils for the Secondary School certificate Examination (Std. X). It is owned by The Society of Sisters of Our Lady of Fatima which belongs to the Christian Religious Minority group and therefore enjoys the rights & privileges guaranteed by Article 30(i) of the Constitution of India. The Society of the Sisters of Our Lady of Fatima, conducts several such school in India.
