Rosary English School, Malvan

DESCRIPTION :

Rosary English School in Malvan is a Christian Minority English Medium school in Sindhudurg district and is administered by the Sindhudurg Diocesan Educational Trust. It was founded in the year 1965 by late Rev. Fr. Gabriel D?Sliva. The foundation stone for the building was blessed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Walter Mixa, Bishop of Eichsatt, Germany, on 13th November 1997. Later the building was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Valerian D?Souza, Bishop of Pune, on 25th july 2003. Rosary English School is an English medium and co-education school in Malvan. Its motto is ?Unity is Strength?. It aims at an overall development of a person-academic, physical, moral, emotional, psychological and spiritual of all, irrespective of caste or creed. At present, Rosary English School is owned and managed by the Sindhudurg Diocesan Educational Trust (SDET), Kankavli with his Lordship Rev. Bishop Alwyn Barretto, the Bishop of Sindhudurg as its Chairman. For almost 14 years it was managed by the Poona Diocesan Educational Society (PDES). This school does not receive any aid from the government, however, It is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra It prepares pupils, primarily for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination of the State of Maharashtra.
