Smt. Swarn Lata Sethi Public School started in a rented accommodation in the year 1990 with its first academic session being 1991-1992. With a modest and minimum bare infrastructure in the rented house, the school shifted to its present premises in Mausam Vihar on 3rd August 1993 in an area of 1.75 acres. Since then, the school has developed remarkably in its infrastructural aspects with a wonderful Building, well-lit and airy Classrooms, different Laboratories, Senior Library with an AC Reading Room and a Junior Library, Music Room, Clay Art Studio, Sports Room, Billiards Room, resourceful Staff Rooms, and an AC Conference Hall. The school outdoors have been developed for Badminton, Volleyball, Handball, Throw ball courts, Table-Tennis, Yoga and Aerobics classes, Open Stage for cultural performances, Basketball practices, Martial Arts and Self-Defence Classes, Boxing etc. A dedicated Green Belt adds to the beauty along with different potted plants. Disabled-friendly toilets have been constructed to facilitate Children and Staff with Special needs in addition to the fully functional Elevator for their assistance. Smart Board in almost all the classrooms, labs, library and Conference Hall, centralised PA System, Water Coolers attached to RO Systems, a dedicated lease line for Internet connectivity, On-line communication with parents-all these facilities have also helped to improve the teaching-learning progress in the school. The school building has got all the provisions of earth quake resistance and disaster management. Water harvesting is also undertaken in the school campus. The recent addition of a 35 KW Solar Power Plant has made the school one of the very few institutions to work seriously for environmental concerns and energy conservation. The school has a large water reservoir which helps in sanitation and fire safety measures. A Fire Hydrant System & a Fire Alarm System have also been installed. The school also possesses 3 big generators to cater to the electricity requirements in the case of power failure. The school is in the possession of innovative sports equipments like , Boxing Ring, parachutes, hurdles, trampoline etc. to promote Physical Education in Curriculum and Self-Defence Techniques. Separate Counselling Room & Special Education Room has been provided to strengthen the Counselling & Special Education Services. Emergency Fire Staircase & Exits are latest additions.
