Nirmal Chintamani School, Barotiwala

DESCRIPTION :

Situated at the foot-hills of the Siwalik range of Himalayan mountains, spread over 12 acres, shadowed by the pristine town of Kasauli, Nirmal Chintamani School made its beginning in mid 1983, when the brick kiln, started by Late Shri Chintamani, for the purpose of industrialization of Himachal Pradesh was being closed down due to paucity of coal. The labourers were reluctant to send their children to school away from the kiln site so Smt Nirmal Devi , wife of Late Sh Chintamani initiated the kindergarten school to ensure education to all children in the vicinity of the kiln. The foundation stone was laid by Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh in Oct 1984.

The School started in the four rooms of the kiln with Nursery and KG classes and over the years has grown into a beautifully laid out institute giving education up to the Secondary Level. The School is affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education under Affiliation  Number 27523.

We wish to emphasize here that the school is still meant for economically weaker section of the society where ?caste or creed? has no essence. It remains a school where second sibling is given free education. However, third sibling, only if a girl, is granted free ship.

The present strength of the School is over 425 in classes from Nursery to Class X. The School plans to introduce Class XI and XII at the earliest and will apply for affiliation up to Class XII as soon as the infrastructure is ready
