By joint efforts  of Distt. Administration, Late Dr.  Mrs. Nirmala Devichand W/o Late Dr.Devi Chand & local public, DAV Managing Committee  opened an English Medium Public School on CBSE Pattern & Syllabus in this valley in memory of Late Dr. Devi Chand, an eminent cardiologist and personal physician of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru the first Prime Minister of India. The school was opened on 15th August,1983 under direct management of DAV college Managing Committee, New Delhi. The school was affiliated with CBSE in 1994  upto Secondary level. CBSE Conducted inspection of the school for up-gradation to +2 level in science & commerce stream in October , 2004.The Inspection Committee was highly satisfied With the school. The school was finally Up-graded with CBSE in Science & Commerce stream in April , 2005
