The JPV DAV Public School, Katni (MP), established in the year 1998 has been imparting education to the students of this historic city, without any gender discrimination. Our school is situated in Pureni near FCI Godown Katni on Satna Road. The school is spread over an extensive campus of about 3 acres, presently bears a strength of more than 1200 students, well developed play ground, specially for training the children in various sports and games.The school prepares the students both for the secondary and the senior secondary examination conducted by the CBSE. Not forgetting the Kindergarten section designed, could qualify as corset heaven, with multicolored toys, learning materials and latest equipments. Computers being the call of the hour, opportunities in all modern software technology, including the internet and E-mail facilities are provided. Five well equipped laboratories, special rooms for dance, music, painting and audio-visual, ensure all-round development of the child.Katni is situated in lush ambience of hills and terrains. It get its name from a tributary of the Mahanadi River which cuts through the hill getting to be called Cutnie or Katni which later became synonymous with the town itself.Katni has produced great patriot and freedom fighters from its soil whose contribution and sacrifice can never be forgotten. It has witnessed twelve of its brave soldiers who get their heads severed by treacherous British swords (Hence the name Murwara or Mund Barah ? The Twelve Heads). Mahatma Gandhi, the father of nation, also stepped on to this land during the struggle for freedom.Katni?s population is near about 11 lacs that account fro the second largest share revenue to the state. It has been upgraded from a municipality ( Formed in 1874) to a District in 1998. Katni is famous for different ores. Limestone, Bauxite, Manganese, Magnetite, Marble ore extracted and found in as larger proportion. Katayghat Park- Water Dam where purification of water is done, Bilahari Old Fort, Vijay Raghav Garh area ? Fort, Peerbaba ? Unity in diversity, add charm and attraction to the name and fame of Katni. It is also an important junction of the West Central Railway with the largest Marshall Yard and AC Coach Repair Factory. And now, who can forget the name our school?
