Kendriya Vidyalaya Kalpetta

DESCRIPTION :

Kendriya Vidyalaya Kalpetta, one of the most prestigious educational institutions of Wayanad District in Kerala State. This centre of excellence which was first established in July 1997 and affiliated to CBSE. Wayanad district has large concentration of tribal communities.

The school was opened in 1997 and Hon.Shri.M.P.Veerendra Kumar Ex.Union Minister for State was instrumental in opening this vidyalaya under Civil sector. Shri.Devendra Kumar Singh.IAS was the District Collector at the time of opening of this vidyalaya. It started as a one section school upto class V with a student strength of 203, in the school premises of SKMJ High School.

The Vidyalaya was shifted to a temporary building which was constructed with the help of LAD Funds of Hon.Ex.M.P.Shri.K.Muraleedharan, Hon.Ex.M.P Shri.P.Shankaran in the year 2000.The school was upgraded to class X in 2002. Again school was upgraded to +2 Science stream in 2004.

The Govt.of Kerala purchased  5 acres of land and handed over to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan in March 2004. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan started construction of our school building in 2006.
