It is one among the 24 schools under the Regional Director of D.A.V. Institutions, South Zone, Hyderabad.  D.A.V. Institution, South Zone are headed by the Regional Director Smt.Seetha Kiranji who is the recipient of the prestigious CBSE National Award for the Best Teacher for the year 2002. Besides she has also won the most prestigious and coveted award for teachers i.e. The National Award for teachers for the  year 2008. The schools continue to provide yeoman service to the cause of true education under her able guidance.
 
Jawahar D.A.V.Public School was established at Jaggayyapet under the joint management of  Visakhapatnam Steel Plant & D.A.V.Collge Managing Committee in June 1989 with 150 students and 10 staff members. It is a Project school and is located in a  limestone mining area at Jaggayyapet, Krishan Dt, Andhra Pradesh.  It caters to the  educational needs of V.S.P. Employee?s children and the children of  surrounding villagers.The present strength of the school is 535 and with a staff of 24 members.
The present Chairman of the School is Sri.S.K.GUPTA E.D.(Mines), Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam and the Principal is Sri.N.Madhusudana RaoEducation is the vision to improve the quality of life and there by the standard of the country. Education is an endless journey through knowledge and enlightment in the course of life. J.D.A.V.Public School is striving hard to provide stimulating environment for the children to learn through active exploration and interaction.  Our endeavor is to develop in each student.
