At the request of the UPSEB (Now UPRVUN Ltd.) Fr. Philip Scaria and Br. Innocent were sent to Anpara, a remote village where UPSEB had started its Thermal Power Station. To cater to the educational needs of Anpara Thermal Power Station township, an agreement was signed between the UPSEB and Diocese of Allahabad Education Society, Allahabad, to start a co-educational English Medium School on 19th August 1981. The aim of this school is to impart to its pupils sound moral, intellectual and physical education based on the Christian principles to enable them to be worthy of citizens of our country. On the 1st of September 1981, the school was started with 20 students: 8 in LKG, 10 in UKG and 2 in class 1 at Kashimore in a temporary set up. Type II ? 213 & 214 were allotted as the residential quarters for the Principal. In 1982 the school was shifted to Type II 213 & 214. Again the school was shifted to the present building in 1983. Unfortunately Fr. Scaria Philip met with an accident on 12th December 1983 because of which he had to leave the school. In January 1984. Fr. Mark D?Souza was sent to Anpara as the Principal. As the strength of the school was increasing, Bishop Mudhartha invited the Canossian Daughters of Charity Sisters, to be the core team and two sisters arrived in Anpara on 26th June 1984. He got 7 quarters as teachers? residence with facilities equivalent to UPSEB personnel. In 1989 Local Managing Committee was constituted for the smooth running of the school. Fr. Mark D?Souza worked tirelessly in such odd conditions and the school reached up to class VIII. Fr. Mark was transferred in July 1990. On 11th July, 1990 Fr. John Lobo took charge as the Principal of the school. Fr. John Lobo started the process of affiliation of the school to CBSE. May 15th 1991 was a milestone for St. Francis school, as it got the affiliation from the CBSE. Foundation for the new block was laid on 16th October, 1990 by Er. S.P. Singh, the then G.M. of ATPS. Three class rooms and Biology laboratory was inaugurated on 30th August 1991. With the generosity of Bishop Isidore Fernandes, in the year 1991 Fr. John Lobo, started Computer Science for classes V and above with four computers.
