CBSE Board Exam 2019: CBSE to change paper pattern of Class 10, 12 board exams from next academic year 2019

CBSE is considering the proposal of changing the paper pattern of the CBSE Class 10th, 12th Board Examinations. As per the information available, the changes would be implemented from next academic year.

CBSE is expected to change the paper pattern of CBSE 10th, 12th board exams. The board is expected to shift the focus of the paper pattern from rote learning to conceptual understanding. The plan also includes conducting vocational exams in February and ending the board exams by end of March. These changes are likely to be implemented from CBSE Board Exam 2020. The changes in paper pattern, as and if implemented would be duly made available on the official website cbse.nic.in.

Please remember, the changes would not be implemented in CBSE Board Examination 2019 but from next academic year. An HRD Official has told TOI that the question paper would include more short answer questions of 1 to 5 marks. The focus, as per the official, was to test the conceptual and critical thinking abilities of the students. The new paper pattern, once approved, would be implemented from the academic year 2019-20.
