Kendriya Vidyalayas are spread all over India. These are governed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and headed by commissioner with head office at New Delhi. KVS?s (an autonomous body under Ministry of HRD) main aim is providing educational facilities to the wards of defence personnel, Central Govt Employees and employees of autonomous bodies who are liable to be transferred from one state to another. The Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central Schools) have come to be known as centres of excellence in the field of secondary and senior secondary education promoting national integration and a sense of " Indianness" among the children while ensuring their total personality development and academic excellence.
